Must Try Vietnamese Food in Da Nang

It’s our first time visiting Vietnam and Da Nang is the first stop in this deliciously new adventure of ours. We’ve always loved Vietnamese food and after watching so many great food videos from Vietnam it was exciting for us to finally come and experience Vietnamese cuisine for ourselves – actually in Vietnam itself.

In this episode we visited multiple Da Nang local favourites such as our first stop Mì Quảng Thi. Mi Quang is a popular noodle (especially for breakfast) and you will see stores selling this dish everywhere in Da Nang and Central Vietnam.

Mì Quảng Thi
Address: 251 Hoàng Diệu, Nam Dương, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam
Hours: Monday – Sunday 6am–1:29pm, 4–9pm

Next up we visit Bep Hen, a local family style multi-level Vietnamese restaurant with a rustic, tropical vibe and incredibly flavoured food. If you’re looking for where to eat in Da Nang, this is definitely a great Vietnamese restaurant to try out.

Bep Hen Restaurant
Address 47 Lê Hồng Phong, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam
Hours: Monday – Sunday10am–2:30pm, 5–9:30pm

We had a fun time eating at a popular make-your-own-spring-roll dish at Bánh tráng thịt heo Xứ Quảng. Not only was it a joy to make and eat but they also had some herbs we’ve never seen in other stores like jungle brooch leaves which enhanced the flavour. Thanks to the guys at this local Vietnamese restaurant who helped schooled us on how to prep and eat this tasty fresh roll!

Bánh Tráng Thịt Heo Xứ Quảng
Address: 95 Trưng Nữ Vương, Bình Hiên, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000
Opening Hours: 24 Hours

Da Nang is known as a popular destination for tourists and locals to get a bit of pampering done. So we decided to take a quick break from all the eating to visit Queen Spa and experience a unique hot bamboo Vietnamese massage. Queen Spa was a great place to get this traditional Vietnamese massage in Da Nang, as they were the first spa in Da Nang to offer this treatment. The staff were all friendly and professional and the hot bamboo massage was definitely a fantastic way to unwind.

Queen Spa
Address: 144 Phạm Cự Lượng, An Hải Bắc, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng
Opening Hours: Monday – Sunday 8:30AM–9PM

With our muscles relaxed it opened up space for more food so we get back to business with what turned out to be one of Yen’s favourite Vietnamese dishes of our whole trip so far – Bánh Xèo. Bánh Xèo are basically sizzling hot eggy crepes filled with shrimp, pork and veges that you dip in a salty shrimp paste sauce.

Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng
Address: 23 Hoàng Diệu, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam
Hours: All Week 9am–9:30pm

For our final spot we order up a round of another famous noodle dish in Da Nang served with fish cakes called Bun Cha Ca from:

Bún Chả Cá Bà Phiến
Address: 63 Lê Hồng Phong, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000
Opening Hours: 24/7

We’re here in Vietnam for a month, so expect plenty more food and travel videos to come. Stay tuned! 😊

We love sharing our food and travel adventures so if you’re enjoying our videos, come join our community and follow us by subscribing to our channel and clicking that bell icon to get notified each time we release a new video. Remember to drop us a thumbs up on our videos and leave us a comment even if it’s just to say hi! We love hearing from our viewers and appreciate all your support 🙂

🥒ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. People either enjoyed my undeniable charm or enjoyed watching me eat things like coconut worms, and thus Best Ever Food Review Show came to be.

I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer. If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Don’t forget to subscribe to Best Ever Food Review Show, so we can connect through food and travel and become Bestys!

Ingram M10 & M11 SMGs: The Originals from Powder Springs

These SMGs are lots 1069 (M10/45), 1070 (M10/9), and 1067 (M11) at Morphy’s April 2019 auction:

After the commercial failure of Gordon Ingram’s M6 submachine gun in the early 50s, we would radically change the layout of his designs. Instead of a Thompson lookalike Ingram’s M10 (the M7, M8, and M9 doing experimental prototypes only) would be a boxy and compact affair with a Czech-style telescoping bolt. It found little interest until a meeting between Gordon Ingram and Mitch WerBell resulted in WerBell demonstrating it to excited military audiences in Vietnam in 1969.

WebBell was an ex-OSS man who had started a company called Sionics, selling suppressors to the US military. He thought the combination of Ingrams submachine gun and his suppressor would be a fantastic package, and he found plenty of interest in special operations personnel in Vietnam. He would create the Military Armament Corporation based at his farm in Powder Springs, GA and entice Ingram to join as his chief engineer. The result would be the .45ACP M10, a 9mm version of the M10 (made for use with subsonic 9mm ammunition), and a scaled-down .380 ACP M11 submachine gun.

MAC would have a short life, with all its assets sold at a bankruptcy auction in April 1976 – but it had plenty of time to create what would become an iconic gun – the Big MAC. Many imitations and copies would follow, but Powder Springs was the home of true original Ingram M10 and M11 submachine guns!
