Is Thiamine Deficiency Destroying Your Digestive Health? Why B1 Is ESSENTIAL For Gut Function

In the presentation, I explain why vitamin B1 (thiamine) is absolutely essential for a healthy gut. This deficiency often gets overlooked, and it is likely a LOT more common than many believe.

Thiamine is necessary for the health of the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for:
1. Gut motility
2. Stomach acid, bile, and digestive enzyme secretion
3. Preventing/modulating gut permeability

A deficiency in this key nutrient can lead to all of the symptoms associated with individual gut-related disorder including IBS and SIBO.

I love your videos. They're very informative. Thank you!

  2. J J says:

Thiamine deficiency is what made civilization. Grains deplete it, changing the gut flora to make more nervous and hyperfocused (mildly autistic) humans who are afraid to stand out. Conformity. Specialization in the division of labor.

Speaking of gut motility, what is your opinion on long-term daily use of Miralax, as so commonly recommended by MDs for both pediatric and adult populations? It seems there can't not be a negative impact on nutrient levels eventually, but there's not much info readily available.

This is a fantastic presentation and I don't want to minimize it at all. This presenter has a fantastic grasp of science. But I do have to say since I seen in so many presenters have a glass of water and drink it there's so many it's not just a young ones there's old ones to there's so many it's not just a young ones there's old ones also. Their throat and mouth gets dry and instead of drinking some water they smack their lips is really distracting but nothing can take away from this marvellous presentation.

Great video but having a mic right next to your throat where you can hear every swallow is a little annoying

    Fantastic talk!

  18. melissa thompson says:

This is probably good information, but I have sensory processing disorder and the microphone is too close to the throat and there is excessive loud swallowing.

Thank You! I have been on metformin for over 20 years and feel like I have chronic fatigue but I think it is a thiamine deficiency. I will be testing that.
