New Delhi, Feb. 13: India's largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI) reported 15.38% growth in its net profit at Rs 32.63 billion for the October-December (Q3) of fiscal 2011-12 as against Rs 28.28 billion in corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
SBI's total income grew 20.46% on-year to Rs 297.87 billion for the Q3 of FY12 as against Rs 247.27 billion for the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Income from interest grew 32.88% on-year to Rs 208.9 in the reporting quarter as against Rs 157.2 in the same quarter a year ago.
The state-owned bank's provision coverage ratio as on December 31, 2011 stood at 62.52%.
Bank's net non-performing assets (NPA) at the end of Q3 stood at Rs 188 billion as against Rs 116.96 in corresponding quarter last fiscal. Net NPA percentage stood at 2.22% at the end of Q3 as against 1.61% in corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The bank's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) for the Q3 stood at 21.79% as against 11.40% in the previous quarter. Bank's NPM in Q3 stood at 11.8% as against 10.82% in Q2.
SBI's earning per share for the Q3 stood at Rs 51.39 as against Rs 44.26 in the previous quarter.
Shares of SBI were trading at Rs 2,147, down 1.17%, at 2:50 p.m. on BSE today.
