New Delhi, Aug 2: The 1974 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer M C Joshi has joined as chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Monday.

Joshi has vast experience of serving in Income Tax department in various capacities. He was the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Uttaranchal. He also served in the Directorate of Enforcement as Special Director.

Joshi has a Masters degree in Economics and known for his great hold over the tax matters. 

K Madhavan, 1975 batch IRS officer, has also joined as member in the CBDT.
