London, Mar.2: Land Rover an acquired Tata Motor Brand from Ford has made its one-millionth Discovery at its Solihul plant in UK and then announced its most famous Birmingham to Beijing Expedition.
The Expedition is going to be the most ambitious fundraising exercise ever for Land Rover it aims at raising one million dollars for the International Federation of the Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The 50-day expedition will commence from Birmingham, United Kingdom and clock over 12,800km across 13 country and will finally culminate in Beijing in China, just prior to the Beijing Motor Show starts in April 2012.
The Land Rover Discovery road trip has been officially named as the 2012 “Journey to Discovery” and follows the footsteps of the 1955 “First Overland Expedition” where a team of Land Rover engineers drove a Defender from Birmingham to Beijing.
This year Expedition Journey to Land Rover Discovery from Birmingham to Beijing has roped in some of the famous explorers such as Sir Ranulph ,Bear Grylls and Ray Mears to launch the epic expedition.
